| My dear friends and family,
This
Xanga post is coming to you via my kind mother, since China has
blocked Xanga. I am still planning on writing on our website -- robertandaimee.net -- as soon
as my dear brother-in-law can spare a few moments and send me all the
vital information for a blog engine.
I have to say, I do not remember much
of our wedding. All seemed like a blur to me, and no matter how much I told
myself to take everything in, I do not remember much, other then going
here or there. So, I shall look forward to seeing our wedding photos
and DVD. Our honeymoon in Scotland was nice and
relaxing, even though our luggage arrived three days late!!! Despite that, we did have a
very nice time. The weather was just wonderful -- quite cool, but not
too cool. The flat we stayed at overlooked Edinburgh Castle, and
from our bedroom window we could hear all the festivities at night
with fireworks and all, for while we were there, the Edinburgh Tattoo was
going on. (And for those of you who aren't familiar with the Scottish military term "tattoo,"
the Edinburgh Tattoo is a wonderful annual military display and performance.)
One of
the great ways we saw the Scottish capital city was on a tour bus. We
could get off and on anytime, up to 24 hours. I was also able to take
Robert to the countryside, which is my favorite part of Scotland.
While we did enjoy Scottish food, we did branch out and eat (Asian)
Indian food, as well. While it was very good, in my mind nothing can top fresh
fish & chips. After all, Scotland is known for its
fish & chips. I was also able to cook a little in the flat, but
we found a cafe by us that had Internet, so we ate mostly there.
The flight to China went well. We
did have a long layover in Helsinki, but we got to wait in a very
nice lounge. I do not remember much of the flight as I slept the
whole way through -- even past breakfast. I woke up as we started
the final descent. We were able to get our bags quickly and go
through customs just fine, and during the two-hour bus ride to
Tianjin, I slept.
Well, I am adjusting fine here, though
I do miss my friends. I know that being with these
children is so rewarding to me. The church here is great, and so I
hope that I will be able to form some friendships. I have signed up
to lead worship for children's church, along with helping in the
nursery. Robert even suggested that I join the praise team. So I am
sure that in no time I will form some friendships here. Well, that is all I can think of
for now. I will keep you posted. Blessings, Aimee & Robert
